On July 1, 1995, Presbyterian Hospital became a part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. This marked the end of one era and the beginning of another. On that same July date, the now former trustees of the hospital established The Presbyterian Foundation for Philadelphia and committed it to “improve the quality of life for the elderly, impaired and disadvantaged in urban Philadelphia.”
