Learn About the 6 TouchStones MarkersHospital Sale, Acquisition and Self Management of Nursing Homes
Our organization has a history of going where the need is greatest and where our resources can be most effective. Following the sale of Presbyterian Hospital to the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 1995, this meant acquiring and managing nursing homes in Philadelphia.
A Shift to Home-and Community-Based Services
As the needs and desires of seniors in Philadelphia began to shift from skilled nursing care to home-and community-based services, the NewCourtland Network evolved and expanded to include LIFE centers, senior centers, and affordable senior housing properties.
Employee Support and Nursing Education
The best way an organization can care for seniors is to care for the staff that cares for the seniors. In recognition of this fact, NewCourtland developed several initiatives — most notably the widely heralded Ladder of Opportunity — to improve the lives of employees.
Support for the Community
As NewCourtland Senior Services has grown over the past two decades, our organization has recognized the importance of giving back. This is reflected through a variety of ways, including the million dollar revolving fund, which helps to refurbish blighted homes in the neighborhoods we serve.
Improve the Quality of Life of Seniors
In recognition of vital role seniors play in the community and to improve their daily quality of life, NewCourtland developed nationally recognized programs like Comfort & Joy, along with a robust pastoral care program.
Awards, Funding and Recognition
In recognition of the way we serve seniors in partnership with our staff, NewCourtland Senior Services has been funded, highlighted, and honored by a wide range of groups and organizations.
